It is time to relax!

Hey, guys! How is summer going? Leo is here again! (Claps…) I cannot imagine what else we can do other than traveling, chilling and hanging out with friends in such a nice weather!? So let’s explore some cool entertainment place at York! (Claps again :)

Tait McKenzie Center: It is a recreation center that consists of a fully staffed 11,000 square-foot Fitness Center, four gymnasia, five studios, six squash courts and a 25-metre swimming pool. Students can get free access using their YU-Card. For using the fitness centre, students must register at the Customer Service Desk and pay $15 for a shoe-tag, which can give students free access for a year. The best part of Fitness Centre is that certified staff is on hand to provide advice to help beginners get started. I got a lot of tips on how to gain weights and how to lift when I began my work out “career” and it is free, so why not? :)
Canlan Ice Sports: It is one of the most outstanding arena facilities in North America. York students can use the facility for skating and playing hockey during opening hours. It is a gospel for us hockey fans. We can not only watching some hockey games but also play hockey in such a professional hockey place.

Outdoor Fields: It is mainly used for interuniversity teams and should be arranged and approved by the facilities administration office. However, students can book the sport fields. There are five fields where students can play soccer, football, rugby and etc. All in all, a large place to chill and play sports with friends.

Rexall Tennis Center: Are you a big fan of tennis?  Then Rexall Tennis Center is your second home at York. It hosts an annual stop on the men’s and women’s professional circuits. During the winter term, students can book to play tennis there with a discount fee. I went there before since I was a member of York Tennis Club, and the facilities were really professional. In addition, York has many outdoor tennis courts which are free during the summer. For the location of where they are, click here.
Track & Field Center: If you like running, jumping and all other kinds of track and field sports, this is the best place to go. It has Indoor Field house and Outdoor Track, which gives students more options to doing sports based on their field preference. Honestly, I have only been there once, but the atmosphere was really nice that made me spend 2 hours there while running and chilling with my friends.
Sport clubs: This can also help you get involved in different sports team on campus. There are more than 30 sports clubs, ranging from intensive sports to light sports, such as from Martial Arts club to Ultimate Frisbee club.
York Common: Sometimes I do find students playing Frisbee or mini soccer game at York Common. It is more like a place to hang out with friends, and doing a little bit sport games would be much fun too. J
It is also a good choice to hang out with the animals at York :p
There are many other places to go and hang out with friends. Now, it is your time to tell me the places that you find cool and interesting on campus!
